Count your calories to get fit!!

I found a FREE calorie counter...

When you're about to bite into that Bacon sandwich that is dripping with fat aand butter... But tastes oh so good...

You can work out how much it'll cost ya here:
http://www.sofeminine.co.uk/fitness/menuminceur/fmenuminceur2.asp?orig=menu&energ=2000

Women we're supposed to consume up to 2000 calories and men... 2500.

Jango and Pandora.com - MUSIC online

I had a nice tip off today that i'll share with any music lovers....

I had previously raved high reviews about www.pandora.com but there is now a similar one trying to fight its way to the top of the 'Internet radio' charts.

Check it out: www.jango.com

It allows you to play music that you want by matching music to your favourite artists.

And it's FREE!

not sure it's as jazzy and sexy as pandora.com but seems to have a large catalogue of music and allows you to socially network with people too.

Let's see if this one catches on.

Peace x

Remi Recommendations - Clothes and Make up

If in NY (or other parts of America) - You MUST visit a new store called Steve and Barrys.

Why?

This store provides you with quality clothing at shoes at ridiculously reasonable prices. It's amazing.

I purchased a pair of quality basketball boots for $14 - that's a little over £7.
I also brought a pair of jeans, decent, for $8.

They also have Sarah Jessica Parkers fashion line where nothing is over $15.... That includes designer handbags and quality shoes.

Better still - they use MAN-MADE products and NOT leather and other animal materials.

Genius.

check out: www.steveandbarrys.comto be wowed.
--------------------------------------

As someone who likes to wear make up I've found it tough lately as I am hyper allergic to most things I put on my skin. For example, if I wear Mascara and Eyeliner - besides the RED raw eyes I get, my eyes become so itchy, full of what I call 'Eye Bogies' and often end up with eye infections.

So I've been scouring the web for 'Chemical Free make-up' which generally appears to be quite expensive.

But I stumbled across a store in Greenwich Market who I must recommend to anyone who wants make up but doesn't want to poison themselves with chemicals.

So Organic
Eagle House
7 Turnpin Lane
Greenwich
London
SE10 9JA
Tel: 0208 465 5600

I purchased eyeliner for £5.50 and Mascara for £10.
For Natural and certified organic goods I thought this was v reasonable.

They also gave me some free samples of lipsticks and skin moisturisers to take away - and they offered a friendly, good, not in your face service.

Would highly recommend that you pop in.

Know where you are going

I have this stuck on my wall in front of my desk - keeps me on point.
I believe it to be true.

Many years ago, the commencement speaker at a prestigious university asked all members of the graduating class who had a definite plan for their lives to hold up their hands. As he looked around the room, only three hands were raised.

Twenty-five years later, when the class held a reunion, the combined net worth of those three individuals exceeded that of the remainder of the class.

People who know where they are going always achieve far greater levels of success than those who merely drift through life, expecting circumstances to create opportunities for them. Successful people create their own opportunities by focusing on goals with an intensity that borders on obsession.

In this way, every action moves them toward their goal.

"The EX" etiquette

When you see an ex with his new girlfriend... Always smile sincerely.
Be polite. Show no malice or ill intent behind your eyes.
Be graceful. Not envious. Engage in enough conversation so as not to be rude.
Don't delve for any new information - who cares really?

Know that you are a better person for not behaving badly or bitterly towards your ex.
Even if you do want to spit in his eye.

Always say hello and goodbye.

Make strong eye contact.

Show him you just don't care anymore.. And that anything that was once there... Is now gone. Yup, allllll gone buddy.

...I just about remember your name my friend!

And as you walk away... Throw a smile that simply says
'Lovely to see you both and You're welcome to my sloppy seconds.... Enjoy'.

Thou shall not feed the trolls.

This is one of the 10 comandments of blogging
(I'll post more of them in due course)

* Thou shall not feed the trolls. When people spew insults, pick fights, or take contrarian positions just for the sake of being contrary, ignore them. Insulting online miscreants or engaging them in arguments accomplishes nothing, it just further pollutes the pages with pointless back-and-forth.

I love the word 'Troll'.

'Muppet' is also good.

Londoners Stop Whinging... Please.

Why do people always get so pissed off in stores because they have to queue for like..
Oh I don't know... say SIX minutes to get to a cashier?

Then they look at you (in the queue in front of them) - like you're supposed to agree with them at the inconvenience it is to their life. Err... How about fuck off, you sad miserable whining twat.

I mean seriously, are there not worse things in life to get stressed about and raise your blood pressure for?

Is SIX minutes REALLY that long?
Go on... Think about it.

They normally are: Grumpy old men / Grumpy (normally fat) women (cos their ankles hurt from all the weight they are carrying) / Or people in their 20's who are just discovering themselves and think it's cool to speak loudly in public - All huffing and puffing because they have to queue to pay for their goods.

Grumble grumble.. why have they only got one till open? Grumble grumble grumble.

Like there should be a cashier that magically appears, at the precise moment that they are ready to pay.

The above is also applicable for people waiting for buses, trains or for a waiter to come serve them.

How about one portion of Shut the hell up?

Be original...

... Be original.
... Be yourself.
... Be different.

Stop copying other people's shit / other people's style / other people's essence...

Immitation is the WEAKEST form of art.

Some say that one should be flattered when someone tries to be like you...
I think it makes them just look sad...

Know who you are first... Before you try to be like someone else.

...YOU know who you are!

Mars starts using animal products - WTF?

Now I'm no vegetarian...

But I have been in the past (Boarding school will do that to ya, believe me)...

And I suspect that with the way my body reacts to foods (particularly red meat and fish) and adding that to how deeply I feel about the way in which food is made / slaughtered and put to market....

I know in my heart or hearts... That I should revert to vegetarianism...
I just have yet to find a way to make it work for my lifestyle...

My sister is a staunch Vegan.

Anyway - the reason for my rant on this.... Well I've just read an article on the BBC website about certain CHOCOLATE BARS that are now going to have chemicals added to them - chemicals retrieved from animals stomachs! AY??

Now Firstly why use such a ridiculous product when there are so many alternatives
And Secondly why would you go and do that to CHOCOLATE?
That's just so wrong and unfair.

Morally now, I won't be able to buy these products.
In the past i've had to stop using products that contained animal fat in them.

===================================================
Here is the article.. Very bad news indeed!

Mars starts using animal products

Masterfoods' brands are household names Some of the UK's best-selling chocolate bars, such as Mars and Twix, will no longer be suitable for vegetarians.

Also affecting brands such as Snickers and Maltesers, owner Masterfoods said it had started to use animal product rennet to make its chocolate products.

Masterfoods said the change was due to it switching the sourcing of its ingredients and the admission was a "principled decision" on its part.

The Vegetarian Society said the company's move was "incomprehensible".
'Extremely disappointed'

Masterfoods said it had started using rennet from 1 May and non-affected products had a "best before date" up to 1 October.

Masterfoods' decision to use non-vegetarian whey is a backward step .

Rennet, a chemical sourced from calves' stomachs, is used in the production of whey.

It will now also be found in Bounty, Minstrels and Milky Way products, and the ice cream versions of all Masterfoods' bars.

"If the customer is an extremely strict vegetarian, then we are sorry the products are no longer suitable, but a less strict vegetarian should enjoy our chocolate," said Paul Goalby, corporate affairs manager for Masterfoods.

The Vegetarian Society said it was "extremely disappointed".

"At a time when more and more consumers are concerned about the provenance of their food, Masterfoods' decision to use non-vegetarian whey is a backward step," it said in a statement.
"Mars products are very popular with young people and many will be shocked to discover that their manufacture now relies on the extraction of rennet from the stomach lining of young calves," it added.

2 excellent FAKE product discoveries

These 2 products are going to revolutionise my life!

Ok…. That’s a bit of a dramatic statement.. However, it’s official. I’m excited!

Fake coke.
Fake Pasta.

The future is bright for me right about now….

This weekend – I discovered Coke Zero.

It has No fat in it, no sugar in it, < 1 calorie per can AND the best bit about it is that It tastes EXACTLY like REAL COKE. How fabulous is that? Genius, I tell you,

This is a vast improvement on the original contender: Diet coke.
Diet coke, with every sip you take, actually reminds you that you are drinking a DIET drink – Simply because it tastes so rank.

I wouldn’t order (in a bar) a Jack Daniels and Diet coke – because it tastes like you have washing up liquid in your drink.

However, Jack Daniels with Coke Zero – is a definite goer.

It’s SO good that if you were to put regular coke in one glass and coke zero in another – it’d be almost impossible to tell the difference.

I repeat: No Sugar, No fat, No Saturates, Salt <1% and Calories < 1%.
I don’t care what you say… But that, in my opinion, Rocks!

I’m not one for biggin’ up products that are bad for your teeth and contain sweetners etc..
But when something is proper good (like all Virgin and Google products *ahem LOVE them both*) – then one must congratulate them on good work!

Mmmmm Coke Zero.

-----------------------------------

Next…..

Wheat free / Gluten free / Milk free Fusilli Pasta.

Err HELLOOOOOO. Shizzle my nizzle is all I can say to that.

I am the queen of allergies and have intolerances like you would not believe.
I love pasta.
Pasta no love me though.

When I eat pasta – my body cannot digest it and break it down.
I swell up like a balloon.
I get cramps in my stomach.
I get wind.
I get very itchy.
And I feel lethargic straight away…

Not anymore…..

I cooked some wheat and gluten free pasta this avo and it actually TASTES great!
Just like real pasta!
Now I know that these products have been around for some time, you can get Bread, flour, biscuits, cakes etc that all come wheat and gluten free…
But for ages these products have tasted shit.

So much so, you’d rather eat the stuff that gives you a bad reaction than the stuff made to help you.

Thankfully with the increase of more allergy aware customers – these ‘Free from’ products are finally actually starting to taste as good as the products they are emulating.

About time is all I can say.
Happy days…
